Finding the Marketing Time

Marketing your healthcare service is essential to boost patient acquisition. Sadly, most practice managers are far too busy maintaining their current workload. Here are 5 tips to find time for marketing:

1: Prioritising Marketing

Marketing will always be put to one side in favour of more pressing matters, unless you prioritise your marketing efforts, new patient acquisition will suffer. After all, day to day tasks will not matter if there are too few patients coming in the doors.

2: Assign the Time

Set aside time for your marketing activities. Whether it be daily, weekly or monthly, or a combination of all three:

  • Daily activities- eg: maintaining any social media channels the practice may have.
  • Weekly  activities- eg:uploading new blog posts to your practice blog. The more often you update and post blogs, the higher your site will rank in search results.
  • Monthly activities-eg: updating an email newsletter or publishing educational content like white papers.


3: Get help if needed

If finding the time to set aside is proving difficult- Outsourcing some of your marketing activities can make sense, writing your website content, business blogging and social media posts can all be outsourced to a marketing agency or consultant.

4: Automate if you can

There are tools that can help you- such as HootSuite and WildFire , which let you set up posts for most social networking sites before hand and schedule their release for a set time or date.

5: Keep an eye on your results

If your marketing activities are not working, try another tack. Analytics programs allow you to record site visitors, and how much time they spend on your site. This will allow you to find out what content and pages are working for you, meaning that you can narrow your efforts if needs be.
